Professionals in Residence

The Professionals in Residence programme is generously supported by our alumnus, and prominent U.S. lawyer, Doug Wigdor (MLitt Social Studies, 1993).

The purpose of the programme is to give our students, Fellows, staff and alumni the opportunity to engage with highly distinguished professionals in any field outside of academia. During their residency, individuals are expected to headline a number of events, including a public lecture.

This year, we were delighted to welcome Nick English, co-founder of the British watchmaker Bremont, and Chris Ferguson, Founding Museum Director of Ad Gefrin Anglo-Saxon Museum & Distillery. They kindly shared their experiences through interviews and lectures, which are available to view on our YouTube channel.

Since the programme was launched, it has featured distinguished professionals, including founder of Cobra Beer Lord Karan Bilimoria, founder of LoveHomeSwap Debbie Wosskow OBE, filmmaker Anthony Geffen, entrepreneur David Scrymgeour, and Doug Wigdor himself.

To make a nomination, please complete this short form by Wednesday 26th August, 2026. A selection panel will convene in early September to consider the nominees.
