St Cross College is delighted to announce the appointment of Milos Martinov as the new Development Director. Milos joined the college on Monday 23 September from Merton College, where he was previously Deputy Development Director and also served as Acting Development Director for a period.
Milos joined Merton in 2018 where he inspired support from alumni and friends at the major and principal levels, alongside bolstering engagement with the College more broadly. He previously held the role of Deputy Development Director at St Catherine’s College where he was instrumental in planning and executing mass fundraising campaigns such as the telethon, as well as initiating key innovations including an alumni-student mentoring programme, a leavers’ gift campaign and a new society for legators.
Speaking of his new appointment Milos expressed: “I am delighted to join this remarkable community of scholars, founded with the express purpose of expanding educational opportunities. I look forward to meeting as many St Crossers as possible, cultivating their lifelong membership of the College, and raising funds to make this community the best it can be.”
Milos also consulted for Linacre College, Oxford and began his career with roles within the European Small Business Alliance (ESBA) and the European Commission: Directorate for Employment, Social Affairs & Inclusion. He gained an MPhil in International Relations from the University of Oxford, at Pembroke College, having previously studied Political Science at Illinois Wesleyan University. Milos is a competitive tennis player and has been a member of a number of clubs in Oxford and elsewhere in the world. He is also an occasionally keen runner, having participated in the Oxford Town and Gown 10K.
Milos takes over from Interim Head of Development & Alumni Relations Richard Sved who held the role from March 2024. The College would like to take this time to thank Richard for all his hard work and effort to lay the foundations for a new fundraising strategy for the College, while a permanent candidate was hired.
Welcome to St Cross Milos.
