St Cross College extends warm congratulations to Professor Kevin Marsh, former Vice-Master and long-standing Fellow, on being awarded the Sir Patrick Manson Medal 2025 by the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (RSTMH)

The Sir Patrick Manson Medal is the Society’s highest honour, awarded only periodically to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to tropical medicine and global health. Professor Marsh’s distinguished career—including leadership with the Africa Oxford Initiative (AfOx) and his significant work in malaria research and health systems in Africa—has earned him this prestigious recognition.

As Director of AfOx and former Senior Advisor at the KEMRI-Wellcome Trust Programme, Professor Marsh has played a central role in fostering equitable international collaborations, strengthening research capacity across Africa, and influencing global health policy. The award underscores the impact and legacy of his work in both scientific innovation and capacity building.

The College is proud to see one of its own honoured in this way. We celebrate this achievement and the contributions Professor Marsh continues to make to global health.
