Professor Melero is a highly accomplished individual in the field of immunology and medicine. He graduated with a degree in Medicine from the University of Navarra in 1988 and went on to earn a Ph.D. from the Autonomous University of Madrid in 1994, receiving an extraordinary doctorate award for his exceptional work. With a specialization in Immunology from the Hospital Universitario de la Princesa in Madrid, he gained valuable expertise in the field. Furthermore, he spent four years as a researcher at the prestigious Bristol Myers-Squib research center in Seattle, USA. Currently, Professor Melero holds significant roles, including being the Co-director of the Immunology and Immunotherapy Service, a senior researcher at the Center for Applied Medical Research (CIMA), and a respected Professor of Immunology.

He is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Navarra, and has been a competitive examination-appointed Professor of Immunology since 2004. He serves as the Director of the Expert Degree in Immuno-Oncology and has delivered numerous lectures and courses at both national and international levels. As a prolific researcher, he has published over 180 articles in scientific journals, authored/co-authored 12 book chapters, and presented his work at numerous international and national congresses with more than 330 research papers to his name.
