Dr Satya Tapas is a structural biologist, innovator, and entrepreneur working at the intersection of research, technology, and social impact. He is the Founder and Director of ScidDogma Research, a deep-tech innovation company focused on developing next-generation scientific and medical technologies. His work spans biophysics, biotechnology, artificial intelligence, and applied innovation, with a strong emphasis on translating research into scalable products and real-world solutions. Dr Tapas holds a PhD in Biophysics and Biochemistry from IIT Roorkee and has conducted research at leading institutions including IISc Bengaluru and the Max Planck Institute of Biophysics, Germany. He has led multiple industry-linked and government-funded innovation projects and is best known for developing SmartScope, an AI-integrated digital microscope designed to democratise access to advanced imaging in research, healthcare, and education. He is a recipient of the IIGP Gold Medal awarded by the Government of India for innovation, and the Stanford Medicine X Award (USA) for healthcare technology. He is also a TEDx speaker and a regular speaker at national and international forums on innovation, entrepreneurship, and social impact. His current professional focus is on building globally relevant, socially impactful innovations that bridge science, entrepreneurship, and policy.
