Neha Singh

Ms Neha Singh is a senior development practitioner with a leadership career that spans the national government, multilateral organisations, private sector and academia. She currently serves as a Joint Director in the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, the Government of India, where she, inter alia, manages the Indian Development and Economic Assistance Scheme (IDEAS) for developing countries.

Since joining the Indian government as an officer of the Indian Economic Service (IES) in 2015, she has worked with the Chief Economic Advisor on national economic surveys; advised on a national climate finance taxonomy; managed the Government of India’s engagements with the World Bank Group; served a six-month secondment to the World Bank under the Voice Secondment Program; and engaged extensively with multilateral agencies and bilateral partners in ensuring effective access to development finance for India as well as the developing world.

Ms Singh also holds rich experience of working in the private sector on urban infrastructure and transport, and in academia, on urban poverty. She holds a Master's in Public Administration in International Development from Harvard Kennedy School, John F. Kennedy School of Government, an MA in Economics from Jawaharlal Nehru University and a BA (Hons) in Economics from Delhi University.
