St Cross College is delighted to congratulate Professor Timothy Orchard CBE (1999, DM Clinical Medicine), who has been awarded a CBE in this year’s King’s Birthday Honours for services to the NHS and Healthcare Research and Innovation.
Professor Orchard is Group Chief Executive of the North West London Acute Provider Group, a role announced by Imperial College London ahead of the group’s formal launch in April 2026. He is a Professor of Gastroenterology at Imperial, and has served as Chief Executive of Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust since 2018.
Under his leadership, the Trust reinforced its strengths in research, safety and outcomes, becoming a consistent top performer in the NHS.
A consultant physician and gastroenterologist, Professor Orchard has combined senior NHS leadership with clinical, academic and research work. His career has included roles as medical director and divisional director for medicine and integrated care, and he is particularly known for his work on inflammatory bowel disease.
As Chief Executive, Professor Orchard has focused on developing a collaborative and inclusive organisational culture, while strengthening the Trust’s strategic partnerships and helping to embed research and innovation across its work.
The College is proud to see Professor Orchard’s achievements recognised in this way, and warmly congratulates him on this distinguished honour.
