Associate Professor Amy McLennan is a cross-disciplinary researcher, systems thinker and education innovator all about improving population health. As a medical anthropologist, Amy’s expertise ranges from studying individual experience to broad demographic health trends.

Her research on topics including chronic disease, women’s health, medtech and food systems has been awarded prestigious Clarendon and John Monash Scholarships. It has reached audiences via a range of academic journals, government policy and global media, including The Guardian, ABC and BBC radio.

Amy has experience delivering cross-agency policy reform and professional education in the Australian Government’s Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, and has designed and facilitated high-profile academic workshops in Paris, Bremen, Canberra, Sydney, New York, London and Oxford. She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, and a Director of the Cancer Council of South Australia.

Advice to St Cross students: Oxford's hidden curriculum can be found in dining halls and College bars, on punts and around rowing machines, in student societies and share houses. This hidden curriculum is as vital to an Oxford education as lectures, tutorials and labs, so dedicate time and care to it.
