Neethu Kamal

Neethu Kamal is a career police officer (2008 Batch of Indian Police Service) belonging to Chhattisgarh cadre. She is currently posted as Deputy Inspector General of Police in the Central Bureau of Investigation. Her current role entails supervision of complex investigations, including financial fraud cases and collaborating with Interpol on international wildlife and narcotics smuggling. She holds a B.Tech degree in Computer Sciences from Cochin University and Master’s Degree in Police Management from Osmania University. As a police officer, she has held various senior management positions, and has played an instrumental role in drafting policies and procedures for the Service. She prioritizes community engagement as a critical aspect of effective policing and directs efforts towards transformative initiatives. As part of community policing initiatives, Neethu was involved in Operation Nav Bihaaan, combatting the pernicious effects of superstition and prejudice, as well as participating in the Mahila Commando, which seeks to uplift and empower women.
