At St Cross, wine isn’t just something we serve — it’s something we explore.
Once a term, join fellows & students for a guided tasting that introduces you to the world of wine in a relaxed and sociable setting. Whether you’re a total beginner or already a bit of a connoisseur, these tastings are designed to help you develop your palate, discover what you enjoy, and gain knowledge that can serve you well far beyond College — whether you're networking at a formal dinner, attending a business lunch, or simply hosting friends.
Each event is curated to teach the essentials of tasting, food pairing, and wine appreciation — all with a focus on real-world usefulness and enjoyment. You’ll learn how to talk confidently about wine (without sounding like a cliché), understand flavour profiles, and know what to look for next time you’re choosing a bottle.
Hosted by St Cross Wine Steward Dr Graham Harding, a wine historian and educator with international experience, the tastings include a carefully chosen mix of wines from the College cellar and beyond.
