St Cross College is very pleased to offer the H.A. Plumer Scholarship in Humanities to research students ordinarily resident overseas and studying for a DPhil course in any subject within the Humanities Division at the University of Oxford. The Scholarship covers the annual cost of the course fee and the standard UKRI stipend for annual living costs for the three years of full fee liability, together with provision of a stipend of £10,000 in the fourth year to contribute towards termly continuation fees and living costs.
The College is very grateful to Plumer Management Ltd for establishing this scholarship in memory of H.A. Plumer and offered for entry in 2025-2026. H.A. Plumer was the co-founder of the Swan School of English in Oxford and a renowned expert in the field of English language learning, having created the University of Oxford's English language exams and authored numerous textbooks.
