“What is causing our climate to change – and how did we get here? Bringing together complementary STEM and Humanities perspectives, this event will explore both the physical processes and the long human history driving climate change. The discussion will consider how we know that increasing carbon dioxide levels raises global temperatures, our dependence on fossil fuels and the need to reach Net Zero, as well as how we might understand, and so begin to tackle, the deep-rooted ideas and systems that make it hard to change direction. By putting together two radically different ways of understanding our predicament, this conversation will also consider how interdisciplinary collaborations might engender fresh approaches and new ways to communicate.”
