This term's Students versus Fellows General Knowledge Quiz took place on Monday 28 February in person with the two teams pitting their wits in the Hall to win this year's trophy for the competition.
Across several different subject rounds, the two teams of four members answered some challenging questions, once again ably researched and formulated by Lesley Sanderson, the former Master's PA. Despite both teams winning many points throughout the quiz, fiendish questions such as the definition of nomophobia stumped both teams at intervals. The Fellows team gained a strong head start in the early rounds before the Students team rallied mid-way to tie the score. However, as the match drew closer to its conclusion, the Fellows pulled ahead in the final two rounds to win by 47 points to 41 points for the Students.
A brand new silver trophy obtained by the SRC for the contest will be engraved to record this term's winning team.
Father Mark Stafford, President of Common Room, once again acted as the Quiz Master with wit and panache. The teams were led by Anne-Sophie Guernon (Students) and Dr Jo Ashbourn (Fellows) in a fun-filled evening of mental challenge, culminating in a very exciting final round - the next match is on for Trinity Term!
