St Cross Alumnus receives Study UK Alumni Award for Social Action

St Cross College warmly congratulates alumnus Kevin W. H. Tai (MSc Applied Linguistics and Second Language Acquisition, 2018), for being named a Winner of the Social Action Award in the Study UK Alumni Awards 2026. Kevin is Assistant Professor of Language and Literacy Education, and Co-Director of the Centre for Advancement in Inclusive and Special Education, at The University of Hong Kong.

The Social Action Award recognises alumni from UK universities who have shown exceptional commitment to creating positive social change and improving the lives of others. In Professor Tai’s case, the recognition reflects the impact of his research on translanguaging pedagogy, which seeks to foster social inclusion and justice in multilingual classrooms.
