Seham Helmi

Postdoctoral Research Associate in DNA-based biosensing, Department of Chemistry, Kavli Institute for NanoScience Discovery

Seham Helmi is currently part of the Kukura Group in the Kavli Institute for NanoScience Discovery. Her research focuses on combining the programmability and optimised molecular interactions offered by DNA nanostructures with the high-resolution detection capabilities offered by mass photometry for biosensing applications.

She did her PhD in Ralf Seidel’s lab in Germany, where she worked on building programmable metallic nanostructures based on DNA origami molds. She then joined Andrew Turberfield’s group at University of Oxford as a postdoc, working on the design and assembly of DNA devices for single-molecule characterisation of electronic components and molecular motors.
