Lars-Erik Malmberg is Professor of Quantitative Methods in Education at the Department of Education, University of Oxford, UK.
He had the title of Professor of Quantitative Methods in Education conferred upon him in the 2018 Recognition of Distinction Exercise.
He is also Docent in Education with particular focus on quantitative methods, at Åbo Akademi University, Vasa, Finland, where he earned his Doctorate of Education. He completed his post-doc at Yale University and enjoyed the prestigious Research Councils UK (RCUK) academic fellowship 2007-12. He has around 70 publications (book chapters and peer-reviewed papers). He is associate editor of the Journal of Learning and Instruction, and member of the editorial board of International Journal of Behavioral Development. His ongoing research adopts an intrapersonal approach to learning processes using multilevel structural equation models (MSEM). His research interests are: effects of education and care on children’s developmental outcomes, teacher development, and quality of classroom interaction.
