Junior Research Fellow

Jeffrey Stedehouder is a Sir Henry Welcome Postdoctoral Fellow working at the MRC Brain Network Dynamics Unit at the Nuffield Department of Clinical Neuroscience. He has a background in both Psychology and Neuroscience, and he is particularly interested in psychiatric disorders and their underlying mechanisms.

His research focuses on unravelling the fundamental neurobiology underlying psychotic disorders, with a particular focus on schizophrenia. To this end, he uses a combination of state-of-the-art electrophysiological recordings and circuit manipulations in rodent models as well as neuroimaging and non-invasive stimulation approaches in human subjects.

Ultimately, he aims to improve our mechanistic understanding of psychosis, which will ultimately pave the way for novel avenues of treatment and diagnostics.
