MSc in Neuroscience (2023)

I recently graduated from the University of New South Wales, Australia, where I completed a BSc majoring in Neuroscience. I spent the final 12 months of this programme investigating a new nerve interface technology for the treatment of chronic neuropathic pain. This was done under the supervision of Professor Gila Moalem-Taylor and Dr Felix Aplin, both of whom I am deeply indebted to for their profound mentorship which helped me to succeed in my studies and subsequently end up here at Oxford.

At Oxford I am reading the MSc in Neuroscience, a program with a reputation for providing world-class neuroscientific training and delivered by people who lead the field internationally. I’m eager to learn as much as I can and make a positive difference through the research I do. While I’m here I’m particularly interested in learning more about various psychiatric and mood disorders like bipolar and depression, as there are many exciting innovations emerging in this field, which itself has historically struggled to find universally effective and lasting treatments. I am supported in all of this by the Clarendon and Ralph A. Lewin Scholarships, provided together by the University and St Cross College. These will allow me to completely immerse myself in my studies over the next 12 months in the nurturing, diverse, incredible community that is St Cross. For this I am incredibly grateful.

Outside of the books and labs I am an avid rugby player with hopes to earn a “Blue” in the historic Oxford v Cambridge Varsity match in early 2024. I also enjoy spending quality time with friends and family, reading history, swimming in the ocean every morning (I might struggle with this one here), and playing piano.

I can’t wait for a fantastic year!
