Professor Gavin Dalton

Professor of Astrophysics

Fellow by Special Election

I have worked in Oxford Astrophysics since completing my DPhil in 1992, and am heavily involved in a number of key projects within the sub-department. Research interests include observational studies of the Large-Scale Structure and evolution of the Universe, and the design and construction of novel instrumentation for the latest generation of ground-based astronomical telescopes. Recent highlights are largely from the 2dF Galaxy Redshift Survey. Upcoming developments are currently focussed on the VISTA telescope and the FMOS survey spectrograph for the Japanese 8.3m SUBARU telescope.
