Our speaker Jonathan Mitchell is a civil servant at the Institute for Apprenticeships & Technical Education (IfATE), which is an arms'-length non-departmental body sponsored by the Department for Education, with a remit to develop and approve employer-specified apprenticeships and technical qualifications. In his current role he is developing a project, with sponsorship from the Gatsby Charitable Foundation, that seeks to use artificial intelligence and large language models to detect emerging labour market change and translate this into skulls system responses.
For this talk, Jonathan will speak about what the institute has to offer those interested in tech careers, and how tech is also incorporated into the products the institute develops.
