As part of a Getty Foundation research project on the Ashmolean's exceptional but understudied drawings by world-famous German artists from the late 15th to the 18th centuries, many were newly researched and rediscovered.

Among the many artists featured are Albrecht Dürer and Hans Holbein the Younger, undoubtedly two of the most exciting draughtsmen of their time. An Van Camp (the Christopher Brown Curator of Northern European Art at the Ashmolean Museum) and Mailena Mallach (Project Curator) will present a selection of highlights of the Ashmolean's German drawings and will share the most significant discoveries made during their research project, including revised attributions and even a newly discovered Dürer drawing.

Attendees are encouraged to register for lunch via the College's booking system prior to the Talk.
