In 2011, Nafissatou Diallo claimed to have been violently assaulted and raped at work by Dominique Strauss-Kahn, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund. There was physical and DNA evidence, corroborating witnesses, and immediate public outcry. Strauss-Kahn turned to defense lawyer Ben Braffman, and shortly after, DA Cyrus Vance dropped the case.

Beginning in 2015, dozens of women came forward accusing Harvey Weinstein of sexual assault, harassment, and rape. There was no physical or DNA evidence, no outcry witnesses, and the victims did not come forward until years after the crimes took place. Weinstein, like Strauss-Kahn turned to defense lawyer Ben Braffman. This time, however, DA Cyrus Vance is proceeding with the case. What has changed since 2011? Is it enough to convict Harvey Weinstein?

On this very special occasion, in the exclusive setting of Lincoln’s Inn, attendees will enjoy drinks, canapés and networking as they gain insights into some of the most high-profile sexual assault cases, from a true insider who will also set those events in relief against their wider contexts fore and aft.
