Arnab Ghosh (2017, DPhil Engineering Science) was recently featured in a TechCrunch article as the CTO of Vybe - AI Camera App.
TechCrunch which provides news, analysis, and opinions on tech companies, including startups, venture capital, and publicly traded companies, recently highlighted Vybe in an article, entitled “Two Oxford PhDs are building an app to let you remix photos into memes”.
Tech journalist Ivan Mehta notes in the article that the app allows users to integrate selfies into photos, swap faces, and adjust skin tones for a seamless look. Vybe is a new AI-powered camera app designed to enhance how users create and share photos. It offers advanced tools for transforming images into creative visuals. Vybe allows users to add imaginative elements to their photos and facilitates interaction with a broad range of users, including celebrities and influencers. The app aims to make AI-driven image manipulation accessible and straightforward for all users. Arnab alongside his friend, Mandela Patrick, alumnus of University college, were together able to close a $4.75M seed funding for the app.
Designed to simplify creative, AI-driven photo editing, Vybe is available on iOS and Android, boasting over 100,000 user-generated templates and plans to expand with video support.
Arnab completed his B.Tech. in Computer Science from IIT Kanpur and a DPhil in Engineering Science from St Cross, focusing on generative models for videos and 3D modeling. He has worked at Adobe and Snapchat prior to his current role at Vybe.
He presented his project, "Interactive Sketch and Fill" at the 2020 STEM for BRITAIN event in Parliament and at ICCV 2019. This AI-based sketching assistant helps users draw better sketches and renders them photorealistically.
