Students Versus Fellows Quiz

This term's Students versus Fellows General Knowledge Quiz took place on Monday, 6 June in person with the two teams pitting their wits in the Hall to win this year's trophy for the competition. Due to illness the Fellows Team dropped down to two members on the night in competition with three members of the Students Team.

Across several different subject rounds, the two teams answered some challenging questions, once again ably researched and formulated by Lesley Sanderson, the former Master's PA. A number of fiendish questions including "bizarre trivia" such as the definition of gargalaphobia stumped both teams across the rounds. Against the odds the Fellows team gained a strong head start in the early rounds before the Students team rallied in the later rounds, leading to a nail-biting finish in the final round with questions which carried double points. As the match drew to its conclusion, the Fellows maintained their lead to win by 42 points to 36 points for the Students.

Father Mark Stafford, President of Common Room, once again acted as the Quiz Master with wit and panache. The teams were led by Adanna Ewuzie (Students) and Dr Jo Ashbourn (Fellows) in a fun evening of brain exercise - the challenge is now on for next year!
