The online series ‘Oxford at Home’ (Oxford @ home) presented by St Cross Fellow Rana Mitter, Professor of the History and Politics of Modern China, has been shortlisted for a UK Social Media Award.

UK Social Media Award is one of the most prestigious Social Media prizes which recognises and celebrates people who are transforming social media and content in the UK.

During the first national lockdown in 2020, Prof Rana Mitter hosted an online series of knowledge sharing ‘tutorials’. Each of the weekly talks explored a different topic: from Rembrandt’s early life to biomedically engineered bubbles, and Shakespeare's plague work.

The inspirational series of tutorials has been entered into competition in the 'Best low budget campaign' category of the UK Social Media Awards.
