Matthew Snape recognised with NIHR award

St Cross Member of Common Room Professor Matthew Snape, Associate Professor in Paediatrics and Vaccinology at the Oxford Vaccine Group, is one of four Oxford academics to be named a National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) Senior Investigator, a very competitive and prestigious award.

The award recognises Professor Snape as one of the "most prominent and prestigious researchers funded by the NIHR and the most outstanding leaders of patient and people-based research within the NIHR research community”.

NIHR Senior Investigator status is awarded to researchers for their internationally excellent research, the quality and volume of said research, its relevance to patients and the public, and its impact on improvements in healthcare and public health.

Researchers receive £20,000 per year of their appointment to fund their research activities, and once their second term is completed they are awarded the title of Senior Investigator Emeritus.
