M1 Boat wins Bedford Regatta

On Sunday 7 May, the Wolfson/St Cross College boat club’s M1 and M2 eight+ crews took part in the external Bedford Regatta, with the M1 crew securing the champion's title as the fastest boat in their division and winning the Jum Beckett Cup!

This was a two boat side-by-side race of around 1.5 km in length. Both M1 and M2 boats competed in college crews' divisions A and B respectively. After three consecutive wins (against Jesus College - Cambridge, Corpus Christi College - Oxford and Emmanuel College - Cambridge)

M2 being a strong crew beat St Peters M1, however, lost to Green Templeton M1, finishing their races with good experience and takeaways for the upcoming Summer Eights races.

The next and arguably most important regatta will be Summer Eights, a four-day length Oxford's inter-collegiate rowing competition in a style of bumps race as in Torpids.

Congratulations crew!
