St Cross College is delighted to announce the appointment of Gemma Donaldson as the new Bursar. Gemma will join us from Tuesday 2 April from Corpus Christi College in Cambridge, where she was previously Domus Bursar.

Gemma joined the Corpus community as Domus Bursar in January 2021 having previously held the role of Faculty Operating Officer at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine - where she had oversight of the delivery of a £100 million ‘estates masterplan’. Whilst at the School Gemma was also a trustee and elected member of Council.

Speaking about her new appointment, Gemma expressed “St Cross is a vibrant community and I’m delighted to be joining the team. I’m anticipating busy weeks ahead as I get to know the College and all of those who make it the special place it is. It’s an exciting time for St Cross and I look forward to playing my part in this next chapter.”

Prior to that she was the Executive Officer to the Chief Operating Officer at Queen Mary University of London. She began her career in university management at Imperial College London after studying history at Magdalene College, University of Cambridge. Outside of College, Gemma is an active volunteer with Girlguiding and perseveres with learning to play the piano.

Gemma takes over from Interim Bursar Wilf Stephenson who has held the role since 2022. The College would like to take this time to thank Wilf for all his hard work and effort to keep the college running smoothly while a permanent candidate was hired.

Welcome to St Cross, Gemma!
