"Let there be light: Gene therapy for vision restoration"

Degenerative retinal disorders are the leading cause of blindness in developed countries. Using gene therapy to render unaffected cells of the retina light sensitive may offer a way to restore visual function in affected individuals. A perspective on a – potentially not too far – future.
