The post of Communications Manager is a varied role, and will report direct to the Master, in the absence of the Head of Development & External Relations (who will take maternity leave from April 2021). They will work closely and in partnership with the Alumni Engagement Manager. The post holder will supervise the Communications Officer.
St Cross College today is one of the larger graduate Colleges, with a thriving community of students, Fellows, Members of Common Room and staff. The contactable alumni population extends to around 4,000 former students across the globe.
The role of Communications Manager is a crucial post within the College. Its focus is to cultivate and strengthen relations with both external and internal members of the College through effective communication, primarily through digital media.
The post holder will be expected to play an active role in the College community, including attending a number of events each year, some of which may be out-of-hours.
- Overseeing all College communications activity, including digital content
- Advising and guiding the College Master on Communications activity
- Supporting and supervising the Communications Officer
This is a fixed-term position offered on a full-time basis of 37.5 hours a week or 0.75 FTE. Benefits include a holiday entitlement of 30 days per year (pro rata) plus 8 bank holidays, inclusion in the University pension scheme and a free daily lunch when the kitchen is open.
