In case you missed it, applications for St Cross Community Bursaries are now open. The application deadline is Sunday 2nd August. Full details about how to apply, including eligibility and the application form, are available on the website.
Message from St Cross Librarian – Philippa Taney
From time-to-time, I get asked about tools for referencing. Of course the Bodleian aren’t running any courses at present, but do take a look at the ‘What is reference management software’ resources. These pages contain links to videos and presentations which I hope will help. Also, please remember to return any books borrowed from St Cross Library before you leave. These can be returned to the Porters' Lodge marked for my attention – thank you!
Message from the College Accounts Team
If you are coming to the end of your studies, please make sure that you complete both the ‘New Alumni Details Form’ and the ‘College Fob & Deposit Return Form’. These forms, along with other helpful information about leaving Oxford, can be found on our New Alumni Page. We are approaching our financial year end, so the Accounts team are particularly busy and the team continue to work from home. We apologise, but this may mean there will be a delay in processing your Deposit Return form, but we are working through them!
From Monday (27th July) the Saugman Common Room will re-open to all current St Cross College students, not just main site residents. Please use this space respectfully, and follow the one-way- system that is now in place in College. Hand sanitizing stations are available, but the coffee machine will not be in use for the foreseeable future. This space is only open to St Cross students and no guests are allowed into College.
We are also pleased to let you know that, unless there are any changes to Government restrictions, we plan to offer lunch for current College members from Wednesday 2nd September. There will be new systems in place to ensure appropriate social distancing is maintained, and you will need to book for lunch in advance, for a specific time slot. Lunches will be charged to battels instead of topping up your University card. More information will be sent to all students nearer the time.
Finally, if you haven’t done so already, do sign-up to the next St Cross HAPP Event, ‘The Greatest Physics Discoveries of the 20th Century’ which features an amazing panel of Nobel Laureate prize-winners and high-profile discussants from across the globe.
With best wishes,
