Christmas Singing

Ordinarily at this time of year the St Cross Choir sing at a carol concert in Pusey Chapel.
To keep the old spirit of the St Cross Christmas Choir going, we're proposing a ‘singing session’ on Friday 11 December, 14:00, to sing through some items from 100 Carols for Choirs, or similar.
This will take place in Pusey Chapel, where there is plenty of room for distancing.

Given that the time on this occasion will be limited, we're afraid that we have to limit this to singers with some previous experience of choirs.

So that we can plan seating etc., you will need to book in advance and specify what voice you are via email on

COVID-19 Update: Oxford Tier 2

Oxford is now following the local tier restrictions and is in Tier 2 (high alert).

The usual restrictions apply, such as wearing face coverings around College and in the Library (unless exempt), social distancing, and only socialising with your household bubble.

Guests are still not permitted in College, including at meals.

Please be aware that there is an increased police presence in the city centre to ensure that people are not breaching COVID regulations, e.g. socialising with people outside their household bubble.

Please see this flowchart for an explanation of the Christmas testing process. The latest information is available on the University website. Unless you have symptoms, you must book a lateral flow test through the central University system. Tests will then take place in the St Cross Room on the main site.

The University booking system will only let you book a test if you are travelling within the UK Government Student Travel window (3rd – 9th December). If you were hoping to book a test later in December as you are planning on travelling after 9th December, please contact the St Cross test coordinator, Justine Goodenough (
