St Cross College Welcomes His Majesty Sultan Muhammad V
St Cross College was delighted to welcome His Majesty Sultan Muhammad V, The Yang Di Pertuan-Agong (King) of Malaysia, on 28 February 2018.
His Majesty attended St Cross in 1990 on the Foreign Service Programme.
He was installed as the 15th Yang Di Pertuan-Agong on 13 December 2016.
The Master and Fellows of St Cross bestowed upon His Majesty Honorary Fellowship of the College in recognition of his role and achievements, and presented him with the College medal.
The occasion also gave St Cross students from Malaysia the opportunity to meet with His Majesty and discuss their studies.
Guests, including the Vice-Chancellor of the University Professor Louise Richardson, the Lord Mayor of Oxford, the High Commissioner of Malaysia to the United Kingdom, and the High Sheriff of Oxfordshire, then enjoyed a reception in the Common Room, with many then joining us for dinner in Hall.
