Aidan Meller Art Prize - Awards Reception

The College held an awards reception on Monday 19 June for the inaugural Aidan Meller Art Prize.

The Art Prize invited submissions from St Cross students in any medium on the theme "Landscapes of the Mind", and the judging panel was delighted at the high standard of entries and the diversity of medium and approach.

The first prize went to Benjamin Jones for his innovative piece "Travel on my Mind", and Victoria Sainsbury was awarded second place for her digital drawing "Hugo's Imagined Church".

Benjamin was awarded his prize trophy and £250 by Aidan at the reception. Attendees were also treated to a close look at an original ink and wash drawing by Renoir that Aidan had brought along.

Both winning artworks will be displayed in the West Wing.
