Laure Zanna is a University Lecturer in Climate Physics. In 2009, after graduating from Harvard with a PhD in Climate Dynamics, she first joined the Oxford Physics Department as a James Martin Fellow and a Junior Research Fellow at Balliol College. Laure’s research focuses on understanding the dynamics of climate change using a combination of theory, a hierarchy of models and observational analysis. Her research interests span a wide range of topics in climate dynamics with a specific focus on the following areas: climate and ocean variability and its modelling; interannual to decadal predictability and prediction; and interaction between the carbon cycle and climate. Most studies so far lack an integrated picture of the participation of the ocean dynamics in climate variability and global climate change. Laure’s research tries to bridge this gap by actively pursuing research in basic climate dynamics and exploring projections of climate change and associated uncertainties. |
