A Man For All Seasons

Another play directed by St Cross student Griff Rees (DPhil Sociology) has just been produced in Oxford, following his well received version of Strindberg's A Dream Play in Hilary Term 2011.  This time it was A Man for All Seasons, Robert Bolt's play about Sir Thomas More's conflict between loyalty to the Crown in the person of his king, Henry VIII, and his Catholic faith, when called upon as Chancellor to support Henry's divorce from Katherine of Aragon.   The University Church of St Mary the Virgin was the setting for this ambitious and excellent production of the play.
