St Cross College, Oxford

It was that time of year again last week, when the Christ Church regatta, the annual event in which novice college rowing crews race each other, should have happened.

However, due to the bad weather conditions, 3 out of the 4 days of racing were cancelled. It was only the first day of racing on Wednesday 25th November that went ahead, although not all the planned races took place.

Unfortunately, the Men's A team and Men's B team lost narrowly to their opponents despite fighting hard in both cases. Disappointingly, the Women's B team did not get to race because the regatta was running hours behind schedule and the Men's C team and Women's C team were also forced to scratch because the organisers were not able to accommodate our boat sharing in the draw.

However, in amongst this tale of woe, we are delighted to be able to report that the day was not without success for the Wolfson College Boat Club (with whom St Cross College rows). The Women's A team, defeated St Anne's by one length, emerging victorious in an excellent race.

Congratulations to all the St Cross rowers; the commitment of all those involved will pay dividends at Torpids in Hilary Term!
