Cycle Workshop Membership

The college's membership has several benefits for college members, but the major one is a further discount on personal memberships at the Oxford Cycle Workshop. Membership normally costs £25 (£15 for concessions), but through St Cross it only costs £10! (For directions, click here.)

As a OCW Member, you get the following benefits:

  • A four lesson cycle maintenance course, covering punctures, brakes, gears, wheels and bearings, and everything you need to know for routine maintenance. (A similar course at Oxpens College costs over £30) (Note: We will also be offering a shorter course at college through our college membership that does not require the personal membership to attend.)
  • A hefty 20% reduction on any new stock items in the shop. If what you want isn't in the shop we can usually order it, in which case you get 10% off.
  • Access to our workshop for your own use on Saturdays (10am-6pm). We make a small charge of £2 for the first hour, and £1 per additional hour. Not only does this mean you can use all the professional tools, you also have immediate access to any spares you may need (including used parts) and you can ask us for help if you get stuck!
  • A discount of £5 per hour on one-to-one cycle training, and access to group courses for level 2.
  • A regular e-mail newsletter, with members' offers, news about cycling issues and details of routes and rides around Oxford (and beyond).

For the personal membership, put £10 in an envelope with your name, phone, and email address in the Bar's locker in the mail room at the Main Site.

Besides the personal membership, the college's membership has the following benefits:

  • A cycle tool kit for College Member use.
  • Maintenance training sessions for College Members.
  • Discount locks and lights, available at College.
    • Basic D-locks - £20
    • Set of lights (Front & Rear) - £15
