Master gains Apollo Award

The College congratulates the Master on receiving a recent award: Sir Mark Jones has been named as Personality of the Year by Apollo, the international art magazine, which makes a series of Apollo Awards annually to celebrate outstanding achievements in the arts.

The Master’s award has been given to recognise his success in leading the Victoria and Albert Museum, of which he was the Director for ten years, through radical changes, making it a far more dynamic and more internationally acclaimed museum than it was at the beginning of his tenure there in 2001.  The V&A is now able to display its superlative collection of decorative and fine art far better and is capable of mounting diverse exhibitions that are both scholarly in content and pleasing to the general public.
