Herb Marsh was a Professor at the University of Oxford’s Department of Educational Studies, and a Fellow of St Cross College, Oxford. He has an established research program into self-concept, motivation, identity and related constructs, as well statistical modelling. Within the Department, he leads the newly-formed SELF research group, which has a quantitative research methodology focus, and is under the umbrella of the Learning, Language and Motivation research group. He is the founder and former Director of the SELF Research Centre, University of Western Sydney. He supervises doctoral students, and has a broad, international collaborative research network.
