He is a member of the Editorial Board of the journal *Oxford Development Studies* and *International Studies Quarterly*, the flagship journal of the International Studies Association. He has taught previously at Brown University and the University of Iowa. His research interests include the study of the mechanisms of global financial governance in the developing and developed worlds, the construction and evolution of the international monetary system and monetary institutions, the social construction of economic theory and systems, the mechanisms of private and public global governance, and international relations theory. Dr Hall's most recent book is entitled *Central Banking as Global Governance: Constructing Financial Credibility*(Cambridge: Cambridge University Press, 2008). His previous books include *National Collective Identity: Social Constructs and International Systems* (Columbia University Press, 1999) and *The Emergence of Private Authority in Global Governance* co-edited with Thomas J. Biersteker, (Cambridge University Press, 2002). |
