Golestanian, RaminProfessor Ramin Golestanian MA (BSc Sharif Univ. Tehran; MSc, PhD IASBS Zanjan); UL in Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics
E-mail: ramin.golestanian (AT) physics.ox.ac.uk Ramin Golestanian is Professor of Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics at the Department of Physics and the Rudolf Peierls Centre for Theoretical Physics at Oxford. He has a broad research interest ranging from macroscopic manifestations of the quantum fluctuations of vacuum (the so-called Casimir effect) in nano-scale mechanical devices to statistical and mechanical properties of soft and biological matter. He has recently been involved in the development of theoretical models for artificial micro-swimmers, and more recently synthetic nano-scale molecular swimmers, which could potentially be useful as therapeutic agents in the future. |
