Membership of Common RoomMembership for Former StudentsFollowing the completion of your studies with St Cross College you will have been welcomed to the College Alumni. However, you may be looking for a way to still play an active role in the life of the College and to continue enjoying its facilities. If so then you might want to consider becoming a 2-day Member of Common Room. All former students are entitled to become Members of Common Room regardless of where you now live or work. As a former student you are welcome to come back and visit the College and join us for lunch up to 6 times per year. However Membership of Common Room entitles one to attend all the social events and dinners organised by the College as part of the termly calendar of events, as well as enjoying lunch in College twice a week. A subscription is charged in advance per quarter for Membership of Common Room, (please see the application form for the amount currently charged per quarter). Members of Common Room are issued with a fob, College key and St Cross membership card, for which there is a £25.00 deposit. This will be refunded at the end of membership.To apply for Membership of Common Room please complete the application form and return it to the College Bursary. If you have any queries relating to Alumni Membership of Common Room, please contact the Alumni Office Other categories of MembershipFellows(i) All Fellows are automatically Members of the Common Room and are entitled to lunch daily when the college is open. Fellows pay a Common Room subscription and may attend social functions at the advertised price. Emeritus Fellows pay a reduced Common Room subscription. Students(ii) All students are automatically Members of the Common Room, until submission of thesis or final examination. They may have lunch daily when the college is open and weekday dinners when these are provided. Students do not pay a Common Room subscription, but do pay for their meals at the advertised price. Students may attend social functions at the advertised price. Elected Members(iii) There are two categories of elected Member of Common Room: (a) `Five‑Day Members' ‑ who may have five lunches a week (at the appropriate charge). (b) `Two‑Day Members' who may lunch twice a week (at the appropriate charge). Elected members of Common Room pay a Common Room subscription and may attend social functions at the advertised price.
