St Cross College, Oxford

Chinese New YearAt the very heart of the St Cross College ethos is the idea of welcoming scholars from all parts of the globe, in all subjects. Indeed our motto "Ad quattuor cardines mundi " - "To the four corners of the Earth" sums this up perfectly.

Over 70% of our student body come from outside the UK, with 62 nationalities represented from all over the globe

Because the St Cross population is so diverse, the College offers a wide range of events catering to many cultures one would not normally find at other Oxford Colleges. For example, previous Hall night themes have included Greek Easter and Burns Night; St Cross also held the first Oxford University celebration for Chinese New Year in 2007.
