Fellow Professor Luciano Floridi Receives Copernicus Scientist Award

 

The College is pleased to announce that Professor Luciano Floridi, Fellow of St Cross, Professor of Philosophy and Ethics of Information and Director of Research at the Oxford Internet Institute, has received the Copernicus Scientist award for his work on the foundations of the philosophy of information.

The award is given by the Institute for Higher Studies within the University of Ferrara in recognition of academic excellence. The award is named after Copernicus, who studied astronomy in Ferrara. Professor Floridi will deliver the Copernicus lectures next academic year.
